About the Faculty

Established in 1986 within the Islamic University of Niger, the Faculty of Arabic Language and Human Sciences (FLASH) trains specialists in Arabic language, literature and translation. Throughout its journey, it has undergone several institutional transformations before adopting its current name in 2011-2012, marking its opening to the human sciences.

Spread across two campuses (Saay for the boys' campus and Niamey for the girls' campus), the faculty has 14 equipped classrooms and computer rooms for the IT program. With 566 enrolled students in 2024-2025, including 206 female students, it reflects the UIN's commitment to education for all.

Over the past five years (2019-2024), the faculty has trained 895 graduates who contribute to the influence of the Arabic language in West Africa and beyond — teachers, translators, journalists, diplomats and researchers. The teaching staff of 35 professors continues a tradition of academic excellence.
