Welcome to the Islamic University of Niger

The Islamic University of Niger (IUN) is a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), whose creation was decided at the Lahore Summit in 1974. Officially opened in 1986 in Niamey, the capital of Niger, IUN has become a leading institution in higher education in the region.

For nearly 40 years, we have been training students of excellence in various fields: Islamic sciences, Arabic language, economics, management, administration, translation, education, and professional training.

1974

Creation Decision

The Summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Lahore (Pakistan) decides to create the Islamic University of Niger to serve West Africa.

Official Opening in Say

Official opening of the Islamic University of Niger in Say with OIC support. Started with few faculties: FESA, Arabic Language, Teacher Institute, and IQRA Center.

Birth

2000s

Yasmina Campus in Niamey

Creation of the girls' campus in Niamey, Yasmina school. University expansion to the capital with new infrastructure to accommodate more female students.

2008

Creation of New Faculties

Creation of 4 new faculties: Sharia and Law, Science and Technology, Nursing Sciences, and Agronomy. Program diversification and strengthening of academic offerings.

2020-2021

King Abdullah Ben Abdoul-Aziz Campus

Official opening of the King Abdullah Ben Abdoul-Aziz girls' campus in Niamey, the largest and most modern university campus in Niger. State-of-the-art infrastructure with modern equipment.
